My work explores the generally-held perception of talent and
achievement; that there exists an illusion of those who suceed as
being gifted or special, when infact the results are always gained
through hard work, practise and the sacrifice of all distractionsfrom
Through my portraits, I try to visualise the point where the hours of
work combine to be more than the sum of their parts; to capture the
moment of release when the work takes on the charatcter and drive of
its own, urging its creator to carry it on to completion.
By highlighting the truth of my subjects talent, I am to celebrate the
determination that has underpinned their success, and in doing so, lay
bare the practical concious process of my own creative ability.
I graduated from John Moores University in 2003 and went on to work for a Public Art Design Company in North Wales called Criag Bragdy, we worked on large scale public art for clients in the Uk and overseas. I then left the company and decided to travel after two years of gaining priceless experience, being inspired by the places I have been and the people I have met, I am now a studio based artsit in manchester.
